Who we are
ForCounsellors is the trading name of ForCounsellors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17316199). We build software for counsellors and counselling students. ForCounsellors Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at hello@forcounsellors.com.
This notice covers this website. When the ForCounsellors platform opens, practitioners and their clients will be covered by a separate platform privacy notice, which you will see before you create an account.
Registering your interest
If you register your interest, we store the name and email address you give us, the date and time you signed up, and the version of this notice that was in force at the time. We use these to tell you when the platform launches and to send occasional updates about ForCounsellors. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form.
You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing hello@forcounsellors.com. We will remove you from the list and confirm when it is done. We keep your details until you ask us to remove them or until the launch communications are complete, whichever comes first.
Keeping the form honest
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. To do that, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and connection, including your IP address, under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare may process this outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
We also keep a temporary count of submissions from each IP address for about an hour, to stop the form being flooded. That count is deleted automatically and is never linked to the details you submit.
Visiting the site
This website is hosted in the United Kingdom on Amazon Web Services. As with any website, the hosting provider may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in short-lived logs used for security and reliability. We do not use that information to identify you.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. The site sets no cookies in normal use. If you follow a preview link we have sent you, one functional cookie remembers which version of the site to show you for thirty days; it holds no personal data.
Contacting us
If you email us, we hold your message and our reply for as long as we need to deal with it and keep a record of the conversation. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@forcounsellors.com. We aim to respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change affects how we use details you have already given us, we will tell you by email.
